1 review for Ukulele with Baby

  1. Louisa K

I signed up hoping to re-spark my desire to learn the ukulele, and to also learn how to use it to connect with my 3 year old and 1 year old boys at home in a different way. I have to say, there are so many reasons I left that workshop feeling SO eager to try the things Louise shared. Firstly, to go to a workshop without the kids briefly and sit there trying to learn an instrument gave my mind and soul some space for nourishment by focusing on just that one thing. Secondly, not only did Louise start from the very basics of playing the ukulele but she shared so many ways to explore how to use it in play in a very immersive and joyful way, with so generously sharing how to weave in other play objects to give our children an even richer learning experience on top of the music. Thirdly, I feel personally I learnt how to be more creative and supportive in my general interactions with my children in a way that helps with everyday life things such as daily transitions between activities. Last but not least, the vision she shares at the beginning of the workshop to help us all understand the necessity of music education and the connection it has with a child’s development was research backed and really helped me as a mother understand the why to supporting this learning for my two boys. Very rich, very empowering. Definitely recommend to any parent or educator with any level of experience with a ukulele.
