Enrolment policy for private/duo/trio lessons

1. Operating Hours
   Lessons follow the Victorian school terms. We do not run lessons during school holidays or on public holidays to ensure everyone gets a well-deserved break. Our timetable is continually evolving, and lessons may change at short notice. Regrettably, Gumnut Music reserves the right to cancel lessons that do not meet the enrolment quota. In such cases, a full refund will be provided.
2. Lesson Duration
   All individual or group lessons run for 30 minutes each week. If you’d like a longer lesson, just chat with us—we try to be flexible and fair with scheduling.
3. Booking and Enrolment
   To book lessons, simply visit our website at https://gumnutmusic.com.au or email us at accounts@gumnutmusic.com.au. We’ll confirm your enrolment via email, text, or a phone call from one of our team.
4. Payment Policy
   Once enrolled, payment for the full school term must be made before the first lesson. If payments fall behind, future classes may be canceled.
5. No Refunds Policy
   There are no refunds for missed lessons. To qualify for a make-up lesson, let us know about any absences at least 24 hours in advance. Otherwise, payment for missed lessons will be forfeited.
6. Cancellations by student
   We offer one make-up lesson per term for illness or medical reasons. If a teacher cancels a lesson, we’ll do our best to reschedule. First-time students can book a paid trial lesson before committing to a full term.
7. Cancellations by Gumnut Music
   If we need to cancel a class due to circumstances beyond our control, we’ll do our best to reschedule (see item No. 9: Make-up Lessons). You will receive a make-up class credit. Due to our “No Refunds Policy,” we are unable to offer refunds for cancelled classes.
8. Terminating Lessons
   Lessons can be ended by either the teacher, the student, or their parent/guardian. Once lessons are terminated, the student’s account is closed and any remaining lessons or payments are forfeited (as per the No Refunds Policy).
9. Make-up Lessons
   Make-up lessons can be arranged at a different time or day and may be with a different teacher. Both the student and teacher must agree on the schedule.
10. Learning Materials
    Occasionally, students are required to purchase necessary learning materials from Gumnut Music, and the cost is the responsibility of the student/parent. You will be notified beforehand.
11. Late Arrivals
    If students arrive late, lessons will still end at the scheduled time. If a student is more than 15 minutes late, the teacher will continue the lesson until the time slot ends, and full payment is required.
12. Student Supervision
    Although we care for your child, we cannot provide individual care before or after lessons. Parents of children under 6 must stay on the premises during lessons. Young students should not be left alone for extended periods, but are welcome to play in the yard with adult supervision. While we strive to provide a safe and inclusive environment, Gumnut Music accepts no liability or responsibility for any injury sustained by the student or parent arising from participation in any activity connected with Gumnut Music.
13. Staying Up to Date
    Parents are responsible for staying informed about studio activities, including recitals, exams, and studio closures. Information will be posted in the studio and shared via email. Please notify us if your contact details change.
14. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions
    By enrolling and/or attending lessons, you agree to abide by these Gumnut Music Terms and Conditions, along with the guidelines and restrictions set out by the Government, our venues, and Gumnut Music. These terms and conditions apply in all circumstances. Enrolment and/or attendance at Gumnut Music classes constitutes acceptance of the above terms and conditions.
